We offer Individual membership for $25.00 dues per year, or a Family membership for $30.00 dues per year. Membership renews at the beginning of each calendar year. NOTE: This rate increase is due to increased printing costs associated with our newsletter.

1. As a member of the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society, you become part of a committed group of people who are interested in family research and history. We'll keep you up-to-date via email on our activities, and we hope that you'll become an active member.
2. You also receive our award-winning quarterly magazine, Our Heritage. (See image below.) The publication comes out in February, May, August, and November of each year. This magazine is a great resource for East Texas genealogists, particularly for Van Zandt family lines. This magazine features information on local families and historical events in Van Zandt County and Texas in general. It reprints old articles from county newspapers that reference the goings-on in the communities. (NOTE: You can order back issues of Our Heritage by emailing us at [email protected] and specifying which issues--most editions from 2016 to the present are still available, with some older issues available.)
3. We'll remind you via email, as a member, when meetings and special events are coming up. Our meetings and many of our special events are free of charge and membership is not required, because we are committed to community education.
On the occasions where we must charge for an event, however, members get a reduced price.
